A member of the National Welding Supply Association since 1988, INFONETICS has enjoyed a position of proactive engineering with regards to industry developments including cylinder serial number tracking, cylinder and point of sale barcoding, integrated fax utilities, EDI, electronic catalogs and now Internet related products and services. Many of these features are integral to the various modules that make up the INFONETICS Information Management System and offer automation of all aspects of the welding supply business: Point of sale, inventory control and forecasting, accounts receivable and payable, general ledger, payroll and industry-specific software such as cylinder control, serial number tracking and individual customer pricing schemes. To allow an INFONETICS customer to automate on as large or small a scale as is appropriate for them, these modules are available on a individual basis while retaining the option to add additional modules seamlessly, as needed later.

Having always used the Personal Computer platform, INFONETICS is the oldest, most experienced systems provider of PC solutions to the welding supply and industrial gas industry. Operating on Red Hat Linux, INFONETICS users enjoy a true multi-user, multi-tasking environment that can be networked into Windows XP/98/Vista PCs. And with the power afforded by the current generation of Intel processors, systems with over one hundred devices (terminals, PCs and printers) run efficiently off a single dual processor PC server. But at the same time, cost effective solutions can be designed to accommodate the smallest of distributors operations.

For tracking cylinder or other assets' serial numbers at the point of delivery, INFONETICS was one of the first to offer handheld computers with barcode scanning capabilities for use in the field allowing drivers to issue receipts for serial numbers shipped and returned. Data collected in those handheld units through the course of the day is uploaded into the main server via a quick and simple datalink. Serial number activity is automatically updated to the each customer's invoice.

INFONETICS is expanding its product and service line-up to include PC workstations designed specifically to work with INFONETICS systems, Windows 95/98 application software and Internet/World Wide Web access. Services range from simply configuring Microsoft Messaging for fax and email capacities to the design and implementation of commerce-based Web sites.
